CLOUD SECURITY & GOVERNANCE

Cloud security and governanceSecurity built into everyday operations.

Clarify assets, access and operating responsibilities before choosing security controls.

Connect risk review, technical controls and ongoing operations across cloud resources, application entry points, accounts and data flows. Define what needs protection before choosing products and an implementation plan.

From business needs to ongoing review
  1. Business & assets

    Systems · Data · Regions · Owners

  2. Technical controls

SIX AREAS OF SUPPORT

Six areas for practical security improvements.

Break findings into tasks with an agreed scope, implementable controls and verifiable outcomes, prioritized around your business.

Identity & access

Review administrators, members and service accounts. Assess least privilege, MFA, joiner/leaver processes and key rotation to reduce unmanaged access.

Possible deliverables
Account and access matrix, configuration recommendations and handover checklist.
Discuss this area

Networks & application entry points

Review public exposure, network segmentation and access paths. Evaluate WAF, access controls, TLS and traffic protection while checking their impact on legitimate users.

Possible deliverables
Entry-point inventory, protection rules and change/rollback records.
Discuss this area

Data protection & AI boundaries

Map data categories, storage locations, transfer paths and sharing scope. Review encryption, key custody, retention and deletion, including model integrations.

Possible deliverables
Data-flow outline, sharing recommendations and retention/key-management checklist.
Discuss this area

Audit logs & alert response

Define key events, collection scope, retention and access. Design alert priorities and escalation paths while balancing traceability, sensitive-data protection and storage costs.

Possible deliverables
Event/log inventory, alert rules, response procedures and named owners.
Discuss this area

Backup, recovery & continuity

Start with acceptable downtime and data loss. Agree recovery objectives, backup isolation and retention, then verify recovery procedures in an agreed environment.

Possible deliverables
Backup/recovery plan, drill records and recovery runbook.
Discuss this area

Requirements review & remediation

Map gaps, remediation priorities and evidence against requirements confirmed by the customer. Coordinate technical work with the customer and qualified assessors where formal reviews apply.

Possible deliverables
Requirements-to-controls mapping, remediation list, verification records and evidence index.
Discuss this area

These are potential service areas, not an all-inclusive package. Systems, tool licensing, implementation and acceptance criteria are agreed for each project.

TECHNOLOGY OPTIONS

Choose capabilities to fit your environment.

Evaluate tools against your cloud platforms, network architecture and operating model. Separate product procurement, configuration and ongoing operation to avoid duplication.

Cloudflare · Edge security & delivery

Evaluate protection, access policies and content delivery for websites and APIs, including origin protection, traffic paths and the required plan.

Azure Security · Cloud security capabilities

Evaluate native capabilities for identity, resource configuration and monitoring in Azure, with clear subscription scope, permissions, alert ownership and additional costs.

Multi-cloud & backup · Fit the existing estate

Review management needs across Azure, AWS, Google Cloud and other platforms in use. Select backup tools, regional copies and implementation services separately.

ASSESS, IMPLEMENT & HAND OVER

From findings to an actionable handover.

Agree the assessment scope and change windows before technical work begins. Approve significant changes, record results and assign ownership for follow-up.

  1. Agree the scope

Confirm workloads, systems, data categories and owners, then agree authorization and assessment boundaries.

  2. Prioritize findings

Document assets and findings, then prioritize remediation by impact and implementation effort.

  3. Implement & verify

Configure and test within approved change windows, retaining results and rollback plans.

  4. Handover & review

Hand over configuration notes, runbooks and outstanding items; schedule reviews and support as agreed.

SCOPE & SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

Clear responsibilities. Realistic expectations.

The cloud provider, implementation partner and customer have distinct responsibilities. Technical controls and evidence support governance, but do not automatically satisfy every obligation.

Cloud & product providers

Provide capabilities and documentation within their service scope. Responsibilities depend on the service; provider certification does not certify the customer system or SnowEngine.

SnowEngine

Provide agreed technical reviews, implementation, verification records and operational support, with defined scope and acceptance criteria. This does not replace legal advice or independent certification.

Customer & qualified specialists

Confirm applicable requirements, business and data decisions, authorization and ongoing ownership. Qualified specialists handle legal conclusions and formal assessments or certification.

We do not promise zero risk, uninterrupted availability or guaranteed certification. Legal applicability, cross-border data obligations and formal assessment or certification outcomes require review by the customer and appropriately qualified specialists.

CONNECTED SERVICES
FAQ

Questions before getting started.

Do we still need security configuration when using cloud services?

Review the services and deployment model you use. Platform capabilities do not automatically configure your accounts, workloads, data sharing or operating processes. Start with the shared responsibilities and existing gaps.

Can you guarantee a successful compliance assessment or certification?

No. We can help identify technical gaps, implement agreed remediation and organize evidence. Applicability, scope and formal outcomes must be confirmed by the customer and appropriately qualified assessors.

Must we replace our cloud platforms or buy every tool again?

Not necessarily. Review existing resources, licenses and configurations first, then identify reusable capabilities and genuine gaps. Procurement, implementation and ongoing service are scoped separately.

Are penetration testing and 24/7 security operations included?

They are not included by default. Scanning or penetration testing requires separately agreed written authorization, targets, time windows and a delivery provider. Monitoring, coverage hours, response levels and fees also require agreement.

Do backups and regional data storage automatically ensure security or compliance?

No. Backups need recovery and access-isolation checks. Data location must be considered alongside access, transfers, retention and processing. Technical arrangements do not replace a review of obligations for the specific business.

Additional solution notes

Start with assets and accountability

Map workloads, accounts, data and responsible teams. Identify the systems and operating scenarios that need review.

Support governance with technical controls

Assess identity, least privilege, network boundaries, logging, backup and incident processes. Keep change approvals and evidence as part of the delivery plan.

Shared responsibilities stay distinct

A platform feature is not a guarantee that the customer environment meets every requirement. Validate configuration, operating practices and applicable obligations with the responsible teams.

PLAN YOUR NEXT STEP

Turn your priorities into a practical plan.

Tell us about your platforms, workloads and main concerns. We can then define the review scope, technical approach and delivery boundaries together.
